A4355983 Puma is a wonderful 5-year-old caramel-and-white female Pit Bull mix whose owner left her at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on November 8th because they could no longer care for her (not that they seem to have cared for her very much anyway). Weighing 53 lbs, Puma is an affectionate and happy girl who meets everyone with her tail wagging. She is a true social butterfly and will win you over with her wide smile. She could use a refresher on leash manners, but she walks OK on leash. Not surprisingly, Puma sailed through her shelter-administered temperament test, which includes time in the shelter’s playgroups where she was thrilled to play with other dogs about her size. Puma seems to have spent most of her life living outdoors and not getting much care--she has large calluses on her hocks and elbows, her coat is greasy, and one of her ears has fly strikes. With a few good baths and a high-quality diet, Puma will shine--and with her awesome personality, she is well worth the extra effort! Puma will be an amazing best friend in a fun-loving household that will make her a cherished indoor companion.
